Ping 'em All

So I finally brought together two of my favorite services:

  1. MySpace
  2. Ping.fm

If you need an explanation for what MySpace offers then my wee little blog post is not the best resource for you. However, Ping.fm...

Google Desktop Beta 2 (with Sidebar)

Google Desktop Beta 2 (with Sidebar): "OK, so I know that: I haven’t made a post in a long time My three readers haven’t noticed This post’s title is anything but ground-breaking …but anyway… I really dig the new side-bar feature in this version, and had to blab about it! I have installed it on my laptop, home desktop, and even my development machine at work. I have only had one problem with it thus far, and it is with the Gmail indexing. None of my installs seem to get my Gmail. I did have Larry’s Gmail Indexer working on my machine at work until my gateway began blocking POP access . I submitted the problem to Google via their Contact Us link, but have not received a response (besides the auto one) yet. The other thing that I am adjusting to is the full browser for search results as opposed to the Deskbar’s mini-browser. Besides my gripes, it is really a slick interface that is beginning to transform the way I work on the computer. Is it just me, or is Google beginning to sound more and more like the Borg…? "

Another argument in favor of geeks and nerds

Just like my fellow geeks out there, I love Google Maps. But Andru Edwards over at Gear Live shows a use for this great Web Application that I never even thought of before.

Gear Live | How Google Maps Got Me Out Of A Traffic Ticket

Excellent!

Adobe Needs Attention

Today while working I was trying to open a PDF file from my development site, and my browser locked-up on me. While I am developing, I usually have a lot of applications running and a lot of windows open, so I missed a dialog telling me to turn on automatic updates for Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.

Now I have to admit, I have been very happy with this release of Acrobat. It has proven itself to be fast and light weight when opening a PDF document, and has been flawless at opening within the browser. But this bugged me. Luckily humor saved the day when Adobe’s little update utility popped up with the following (un-edited I swear) dialog.

Adobe Needs Attn...

Ahhh… isn’t that sweet. It just needed a little attention…

Least common denominator browser (Jim Carson -> July 08, 2005, 255 words)

Jim Carson in this post Least common denominator browser (Jim Carson -> July 08, 2005, 255 words) identifies a definate problem on the internet even after IE7 is released. Looks like even good news for IE7 can end up not-so-good. :-(

New Blog Home for good

Finally got the domain that I was trying to get for 5+ years! robnrob.com. I have installed CommunityServer on it and ported most of my posts onto my new blog there. I will probably keep posting on MSN Spaces as well due to it's Technorati status .

Please let me know what you think. You can post a comment, or contact me via email here.

Match Green Tea Energy Splat

Well I knew that I was in need of an energy shot this morning, so I made a stop at my favorite breakfast spot: Jamba Juice.

I didn't know about my apparent drinking problem though...

Nothing says style like green splats of Match Green Tea Energy Shot with OJ on your shirt.

Episode III has nothin' on this...

So what if Star Wars (any Episode) generated so much hype. It is the parodies that win my heart. So with just a little more a do (don't you hate when people pull that “without further a do” bull$#!+... I mean isn't that some more a do?) I give you:
